Course Description
The BSSC is a lecture-lab course focusing on the configuration of the switches and services available in a BPX network. Participants will be introduced to features and concepts, observe demonstration of appropriate
commands, and perform hands-on lab exercises. The lab exercises are designed to demonstrate the ability of the participant to successfully complete configuration tasks.
Prerequisites All participants must meet the prerequisites before attending the BSSC. The instructor will not cover any of the prerequisite material in detail and will expect all participants to have the
following:
Successful completion of the WAN Quick Start Course Preparation Guide or Network Operations Course Preparation Guide.
A working knowledge of the following topics to the depth described in the WAN Quick Start Course Preparation Guide or Network Operations Course Preparation Guide, including:
3/4 Broadband (T3, E3, OC-3/STM-1) transmission-coding, line and cell framing, ones density enforcement, line and cell rates
3/4 ATM- BISDN reference model, AALs, UNI and NNI cell format including the definition and application of each field, signaling protocols, OAM messages
Who Should Attend
The intended target audience for the BSSC is end users responsible for implementing, provisioning, maintaining, troubleshooting, and managing the BPX network. A secondary
end-user audience may include those responsible for designing and planning network changes.
