Cisco Call Manager 3.1 AVVID Training Certification Class
Price 5 Day Hands-on Lab & Lecture Course Class $2695.00
Course Description The Call Manager 3.1 Bootcamp is an advanced introduction/reinforcement course for those individuals responsible for the implementation of the various aspects of the
CallManager environment. It covers many aspects of a CallManager installation and includes extensive hands-on instructor-led labs. The course also enforces the concepts for
design and introduces a plethora of troubleshooting tools available for the AVVID architecture, including the CallManager Trace application and many of the newer Plug-In applications
that interoperate with the CallManager platform.
Prerequisites The Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices (INCD), Building Cisco Remote Access
Networks (BCRAN), Building Scalable Cisco Networks (BSCN), Cisco Voice over Frame Relay, ATM, HDLC and IP (CVOICE), and Cisco IP Telephony (CIPT) courses are strongly
recommended, as well as the Cisco Voice Essentials CD-ROM and AVVID 3.X Design Guide. Also, a solid understanding of networking concepts and terminology; the functions of
a network protocol; network device roles; the OSI reference model; and binary and hexadecimal numbering. Exposure to the Internet or an intranet, and the ability to use
Windows 2000 to run multiple applications are also required. Much of this prerequisite knowledge can be acquired from the material found in the CCNA Basics (CCNAB), CCNP
Basics (CCNPB) or Internetworking Technology Multimedia (ITM) CD-ROMs.
Objectives Upon completion of this course, students will be able to meet the following overall objectives:
Understand how Catalyst, IP phone and a PC are connected and interact
Understand how the new "multi-service access" ports work and how the switch software has been extended
Configure the switch to efficiently support the IP phones
Identify and describe the devices using "skinny" protocol
Identify the various uses of the Catalyst blades for the AVVID environment
Identify and describe the new VG200 gateway and it's capabilities
Identify which devices are H.323v2 devices and their use
Define a Route Plan and the rules of call routing
Identify and describe how wildcards are used in a route pattern
Identify and define Route Groups, Route List, Route Patterns and Route Filters
Configure a Route Plan
Identify and describe the protocols used in the AVVID environment and describe the interaction with the various Cisco devices involved
Identify the enhanced dial features for AVVID Call Manager 3.0 and describe how they are used in an AVVID environment
Understand enhancements to Call Manager supplementary services and how cluster operation affects this
Understand what a Transcoder and an MTP do, and when they will be used by the system
Understand how to estimate the number of Transcoders/MTP's required in a given installation
Understand how to identify and correct configuration problems
Who Should Attend
This course is intended for Cisco systems engineers and individuals responsible for designing AVVID networks bases on Call Manager 3.0.
