Cisco Internetwork Troubleshooting is an instructor-led, five-day course with hands-on lab exercises.
The course covers the developments in Cisco IOS Release 11.2 and Catalyst software release 3.1(2a).
CIT 4.0 teaches students how to baseline and troubleshoot an environment using Cisco routers and switches for multiprotocol client hosts and servers connected with the following:

Network systems analysts and maintenance personnel responsible for troubleshooting network problems.
Prerequisite skills and knowledge the students must possess to fully benefit from the training deliverable must include other Cisco education offerings that the students must complete before beginning CIT:
Note: Because CIT 4.0 has technical content beyond the router-centric limits of the past CIT courses, students must have LAN switch and Fast Ethernet skills and knowledge.
The graphic shows the proposed curriculum flow with CIT prerequisites. Students with ICRC and ACRC plus job experience on routers will also need a background in LAN switching technology to be successful in CIT Release 4.0.
