Designing a Microsoft
Windows 2000 Migration Strategy
OVERVIEW
This two-day course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to select
and design a strategy to migrate from a Microsoft® Windows® NT Server 4.0 directory
services infrastructure to a Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory directory
service infrastructure by describing the planning processes and implications involved.
UPON COURSE COMPLETION
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Choose a migration path to Windows 2000 Active Directory.
- Develop an upgrade strategy.
- Ensure continued productivity during a domain upgrade or a restructure by managing and
mitigating risks of a production environment.
- Develop a domain restructure strategy.
- Plan to deploy a migration strategy.
PREREQUISITES
- Successful completion of course 1561 Designing a Microsoft Windows 2000 Directory
Services Infrastructure
OR
- Successful completion of the following:
- Course 2154, Implementing and Administering Windows 2000 Directory Services
- Course 1556, Administering Microsoft Windows 2000
- Course 1557, Installing and Configuring Microsoft Windows 2000
- Course 1558, Advanced Administration for Microsoft Windows 2000
- Working knowledge of Active Directory planning and design
- Experience evaluating forest and site designs for the purposes of upgrading
